Grocery Spending October - Part 4

Part 3

I bet you thinking, man didn't you just go shopping. Yes, I did! Refer to link above designated Part 3.

Well, I have a craving for fried chicken and I was out of bread crumbs. So, I headed to the store yesterday. Let me repeat...to get bread crumbs. I had a heck of a time finding them. You see I like Progresso's Italian and the local store is just not organized in a way that I can figure out. Although, it is 100% better than Wal-Mart.

I picked up quite a few more items, while searching, before I realized - I'M NOT AT WAL-MART. Do you know what that means? That means I can ask someone and they WILL help me. So, cool!

That is exactly what I did. They even knew what I was talking about and I was ready to check out in seconds. I love a local store. I hate Wal-Mart!!!

So, while touring the store, I picked up:

  • bread
  • bakery buns - I knew I couldn't make the chicken last night with the game far away - so I just whipped up some Manwiches. That were decent on bakery buns.
  • pumpkin filling (think pie here)
  • evaporated milk (again the pie) this is why searching is no good.
  • bread crumbs - Love'n those Progresso Crumbs!

Total spent $11.22. It adds up so quick. I didn't even use a cart, or else I would have spent more.

So add this to the first 3 purchases and we are at $634.45 for the month - so far. With 11 days left...........must....keep....under......$800. Can't spend over $165.55 more, probably less, remember my husbands trip to the store and the receipt I never got. Shame on him, but don't tell him, I need his help sometimes.

I remember 1 time I sent him to the store for corn starch, he came back with baking soda, baking powder and something else......I just can't think of it. He's a man, it's not his job in this house to cook. I'm just happy he's willing to stop at the store for me sometimes. And he is fabulous on the Weber Grill.
