Moment of Truth
Well DD1's car is in our garage. The problem is the exhaust, which I guess we should be happy with. A transmission could have been more costly then the value of her vehicle.
I'm not sure what the muffler is going to cost. Hubby and DD1 are on their way to pick one up now. Luckily Farm & Fleet had one. AutoZone does not carry mufflers for her car. I'm suspecting we will be dishing out a good sized sum for this repair. All in all, I am happy my hubby can do this and not have to send the car into that repair place. Although, I really, really want that vacation. Not that I care about stunt men, but Cali would be nice right now.
Then, as my hubby is doing his check over of her car, he spots a missing front hub cap and a puncture hole in the front passenger side tire.
Okay, I'm a pit ticked. If you recall we just purchased tires for her car in August. You know, I'm not dense, I realize accidents happen. We do get our share of life events here with all these kids, but 3 months on a new tire is not acceptable.
To make matters worse - she laughed about it. It took every restraint in my body to stop from telling her to go get her own tire.
It took even more when she lied and said "I haven't been in any accidents in a long time." Need I draw your attention to the front passenger side tire? When I could remain silent no more - I said:
"My guess is, you were drunk and ran into a curb driving. Lost the hubcap and punctured the tire at the same time."
If she didn't laugh. If she didn't lie. If she didn't just act like who cares. I would be more inclined to think she had learned a lesson and will make better choices. Evidently that 36 on the ACT did nothing for her common sense and conscience.

Ok, that's not good.
Hm. I wonder why she isn't responsible for her own expenses? Maybe then she'd take them more seriously. She's getting a very sweet deal having everything paid for like this. .which isn't to take back my last comment about education.
