$500 Tax Rebate
I don't understand??? I know this is no big surprise, I spend way too much time confused by the actions of our government. This is why I will never run for public office. I would want everything laid out and definable in 3rd grade language. Only to encourage the whole country to unite in the knowledge of what is happening.
As I step out of my fantasy realm.....I'm looking at Bush's next attempt to "help" the American People. He and his flunky's want to send out a rebate of $500 a person to help ward off the sub-prime mess and the recession.
Don't get me wrong - I want the money. I mean, don't we all? Of course, if his past represents his future, this will just be a tax liability for me on my 2008 tax return.
Bush showed us from day one, there are no free rides.
What bothers me, is the huge deficit this man and his flunky's have created for us and his footloose way of spending.
Mr. Bush, the best way to put money in my pocket - is the same as with a household budget. You've seen one of those right?? Or you too high and mighty for that? Lessons Bush needs to learn before he dies:
- Stop accumulating debt
- Build an emergency fund - think Katrina, earth quakes, tornados and flooding in recent years.
- Cut back on spending - a good old fashion NO, works quite nicely.
- Giving is good - but charity begins at home. Secure the home, move out into the world.
- Pay down debt - wouldn't it be fun to watch the deficit decrease?
- Build security
Come on Democrats, lets fix the mess of the Republicans. Or at least as much as we can before they return to office in 4 years.

Two words: Lame Duck.
Don't worry.
A $500 rebate would allow me to reduce my student loan balance and help me accelerate payoff by a few years.
