Mooching Hurts

I watched Oprah to see where the mom, spending her family into bankruptcy, got to. But the big story, for me was the first family.

A mooching daughter and sister, that was draining a mother and sister of any financial stability. This was a very emotional addition to this show. That mother and sister, did everything above and beyond to try and help the lost relative.

Especially, the sister who:

• Purchased her sister's home - using her credit and made payments when her sister couldn't
• Saved her tax refunds - to be able to "lend" them to her sister, instead of bettering her own life.

Poor mom, doesn't even have an emergency fund - because she is constantly bailing out her daughter. And who could blame her, her grand kids are there.

It was very powerful, showing all the sides to the worse mistake ever - mixing money with family. I hope this show moves Kelly - the sister/daughter with no money sense - back into a learning and trying mode. It's time she took the reins and took some burden off her mom and sis.

As far as the little chicky from the prior show - they have taken action:

• House is on the market
• 1 vehicle has been sold
• Health Insurance purchased for kids
• Life Insurance purchased for both parents
• Resume - for at home mom created
• Application filed at Starbucks
• Hair and extensions - gone
• No Starbucks everyday - instead, every week they gather cans and trade them in for cash - whatever money they make is what they can spend on Starbucks - how cool is that?

The couple looks much more happier. Which can only be good things for the whole family. Love and Happiness, not things, is what we all need. Great job smacking them down Suze!
