So glad I opted for the best changes

Confirmation class was canceled, due to snow. You think that would have given me a reason to not try and leave my house tonight.

Well I didn't just leave, I took the kids with me.

We headed to the 4pm mass. I would have felt guilty missing it. My hubby was supposed to work late and I didn't want to go out in the dark, with the snow. It's Ash Wednesday and I wanted to get there. It was a fast service, since we were only part of a few that made it.

We headed home, slow and I'm talking 15 miles an hour. All was well, until we hit the back roads out of town, towards home. Even at our slow pace, it didn't prevent my anti-lock breaks from jumping like a banshee.

Long story Short - I ended up in the ditch!

Thankfully, I am a very, very lucky woman. I have the best husband in the world! He was there fast. Even with the ice in his awesome truck. He pulled me out after he stopped laughing at me. :-) I miss my 4 wheel drive - 2 times in 2 days.

Afterwards, once we were safe, we discovered that it is ILLEGAL to pull a vehicle out. The law says YOU MUST call a tow truck. We are just lucky the cops didn't come buy. That would of cost a mint.

I don't want to think about the negative - but logically, this law is bogus.

Instead I am counting my blessing we are all safe. The car is no worse for the wear. And I'm so happy I didn't marry for money. The news I shared with my hubby - if he was a money guy in a BMW, I'd still be sitting in the ditch waiting for Triple A. My kids were great through the whole thing and even one of my "almost" kids stopped to hang with us, incase we needed pushers. Which we didn't, but that was so sweet!
